Pinch-hitter Rafael Furcal hit a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth as the Dodgers squeaked past the Colorado Rockies, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Dodger Stadium.
With the win, the Dodgers took the three-game series against the Rockies and prevented a third consecutive series loss for the first time since the club lost three straight to Colorado, Philadelphia and Washington last season in August.
Starter Clayton Kershaw was uneven in five innings. He held the Rockies to just one hit but walked five, leading to his exit after throwing 97 pitches in five innings.
Ronald Belisario, Ramon Troncoso and Jonathan Broxton combined to pitch four shutout innings of relief. Broxton struck out two to notch the save. |
